From May 8th until May 10th it is time for a fantastic event for cycling enthusiasts. Giro d’Italia Grande Partenza is coming to Belfast, and there will be three routes available; Belfast, Armagh and Dublin.
More than 200 bicyclists will come to participate in this event from all across the world, and the schedule for the event is the following.
Giro d’Italia Grande Partenza in Belfast stages
Thursday 8 May
Pre-race events, team presentation, showcase event at Belfast City Hall (free admission, ticketing details to follow)
Friday 9 May
Stage One – Start Titanic Quarter, finish Belfast City Hall
Saturday 10 May
Stage Two – Start Titanic Quarter, finish North Queen Street, Belfast
Sunday 11 May
Stage Three – Start The Mall, Armagh, finish Dublin city centre
Stage One
Stage One of the Giro D’Italia in Northern Ireland is a team time trial (21.7km) through Belfast, taking the following route:
- Titanic Belfast
- Newtownards Road
- Stormont
- Queen’s Bridge
- Ormeau Road
- Stranmillis
- Belfast City Hall.
Stage Two
Stage Two begins and ends in Belfast with a 218km route that passes through:Titanic Quarter
- Antrim Road
- Antrim
- Ballymena
- Bushmills
- The Giant’s Causeway
- Cushendall
- Larne
- Whitehead
- Carrickfergus
- North Queen Street, Belfast.
